The committee

Danny, club secretary, is a passionate instructor and a true sportsman with more injuries than normal. He brings enthusiasm, experience and huge amounts of dedication to the club.

Paula has been helping at the club since the start, and now looks after Welfare and Beach activities. She loves swimming in the sea, surfing & of course paddle boarding!

Spending more time in the North Sea than many local mackerel, Nick is a passionate winger, foiler & ex-windsurfer. We are keen to get him back on a windsurf board…!

Keeping the club accounts in order is Estelle, who is learning Wingfoiling & is a hero at kids club on water activities.

Ali began windsurfing in Newburgh after inheriting his dad’s obsession for the sport. He has worked abroad as a windsurf instructor and is stoked to see the next generation getting on the waves.

Melissa has been very involved in the club in recent years getting back into windsurfing. Super dedicated, she is now getting qualified as a SUP instructor, and is in charge of the club’s paddleboarding.

Waterman Sam is an instructor and international racer, passionate about wind-foiling, windsurfing, racing, & waves. If it’s windy, you’ll find him escaping school to get on the water!

Rob is a walking wikipedia of windsurfing and is heading up the club’s SUP social group. He is a RYA & ASI instructor with decades of coaching experience and is often seen in the waves at Cruden Bay.

Support, sponsorship & funding

Without the support of individuals, businesses and organisations, the club wouldn’t be where it is today. We’re immensely grateful for this support and below is a list of some sponsorship, funding and donations to date. If you’d like to offer help or support, make a donation or enquiry, please get in touch.

Audrey Forbes-Clarke, Ythan fishery manager and Udny Trust factor, has been very supportive and enabled the club to have access to and make use of a local hut. The guys from SPLASH! and NESS have been very supportive and helpful to the club on a number of issues we’ve come up against during the club’s fomative period.

We’ve also had awesome support from NESFLAG and funded by Aberdeenshire Council’s Coastal Communities Challenge Fund, who have provided funding for a new storage trailer and training of our volunteers

Big thanks especially to Henry Webb who provided very useful feedback on our Awards for All grant application and Ewan Macpherson who has been really helpful in linking us to a number folk who have been/are in a similar position to ourselves.

Local windsurfers have very kindly made donations, from boards to wetsuits and other items. Once again, a big thank you!
